Leading automated and manual regression, project, stress, load testing of complexmultinational SAP/R3 implementations.The automated testing covers US, Canadaand Latin America - 13 countries in all. Rollout of SAP to all Americas countries and other critical business projects. Lead role in testing for a 4.6 to 4.7 SAP upgrade, plus several service packinstallations. Also in database migration from ingress tooracle, a physical move of SAP database about 1000 miles to new location, and the worlds largest merge of two separate SAP systems into one (inside and outside HP).
Coordinating and planning testing activities with project teams andbusiness groups to develop automated scripts which ensure that functionality ofcritical systems is not impacted by new projects. Supervising between 5 and 8 testscripters based in locations around the world to create and execute scripts. At times we have testing for different projects ondifferent SAP instances running concurrently which makes for complex coordination ofdependencies and diplomacy with different groups to agree to schedules. Managementof Mercury test environment to support functional and load testing, includingleading recent project to upgrade from Test Director to Quality Center.Designing processes for ensuring production like test environment and trouble free release to production activities.

subsystems to fill in gaps in the packages. examples of these are an employee
record system, closely linked to the payroll system, and a system to handle
internal car fleet rental for sales representatives, linked to the accounts

The
systems supported were for the accounts and payroll of the entire United
Kingdom L’Oreal cosmetics operations. This included a manufacturing site in Wales, head office in London,
and centralized warehouse in Manchester.
We were part of the global operations of L’Oreal, and many of our reporting
functions were to L’Oreal head office in Paris France.
When making changes to local systems, we had to make sure those changes would
fit in with national and international requirements.

Analysis,
design and development of a Production Planning System for the manufacturing plant. The system used forecasts created by the purchasing
department using spreadsheets, which were uploaded to the Digital Equipment system,
and produced production plans for finished product.
The automation of this task which was previously a
manual task saved 60% in effort and freed planning staff to be more productive.
Recentlycreated HVAC zone control system including individual temperature selection foreach room. Includes easy to use interface so that ‘non-computerate’ people inthe house can control the system from a HP ipaq pocket PC used as a whole houseremote and from a media center PC.Next project– Control existing irrigation system using internet weather data
