The delivery and installation of nuclear detection gates at airfreight handlers at the national airport is part of the Schiphol SmartGate Cargo program. Several airfreight detection gates are placed per airfreight handler to ensure that airfreight that arrives on the ground by truck is directly checked for nuclear radiation.
