On November 14, 2017, an Apache helicopter from Defense fled against a high-voltage cable during an exercise. A power outage was the result, with the mobile network in and around Culemborg soon being overloaded. Our colleagues switched quickly; aggregates were charged, then they were loaded onto a truck with five at a time. The aggregates were used to keep the mobile radio masts of KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile 'up-and-running'. With the help of DAEL Power, the outage of the mobile network was largely taken care of. Around one o'clock last night the news came that the electricity supply in the affected area had been fully restored. The men of DAEL Power and partner HNL could return home at 3:30 am.
